Hartsville Little Theatre exists to foster a love of the arts and humanities for local youth by empowering them with confident self-expression in a collaborative environment and by modeling community engagement and healthy exploration of emotional intelligence. We believe that engagement with performance arts and humanities cultivates lifelong skills that transfer to various other aspects of learning and life.
We offer a range of educational programs for children, including acting, art, performance, musical, and staging workshops, summer camps, and performances. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of performers and theater enthusiasts.
We offer children's workshops and full-scale stage performances of a musical or stage play,.
In June of 2025 we presented our first full stage performance, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
In April/May of 2026, we will present our second production, The Wizard of Oz
DECEMBER 7TH 2-5 BLACK CREEK ARTS
On December 7th from 2:00-5:00 p.m., we will hold a pre-selection for 30 spots, and children will be able to showcase their acting, singing, and/or dancing skills (at least one skill). Everyone will use the same dialogue, song, and dance to audition. You will be emailed with the audition samples to memorize (dialogue, song, dance) and time slot for your audition between 2:00-5:00 p.m. Those hoping for major roles at the in-house audition should be excellent at all three skills, but we will select the best 30 students who fit our needs and roles for this production.
Our mission is to make the arts and humanities equitable, but we cannot do that without community support. Please consider sponsoring someone for our Spring Workshop!
Give the Gift of the Arts to a Local Child. For 250 dollars you can pay the tuition of one child to the Wizard of Oz Workshop who otherwise has no access to these types of experiences without your help. All of our staff is unpaid. We are a 501 c3 non-profit organization. Tuition covers the cost of materials needed to teach. Your donation covers 40 hours (spread over 4 months) of instructional time in reading, interpretation, acting, singing, dancing, art, and the practical application of mathematics with drafting, carpentry, and set creation.
That is $6.25 an hour.
All donations are tax deductible!

Hartsville Little Theatre showed up to the Saturday Farmers Market to shake things up for everyone. Passersby created a new identity through costuming.
Hartsville Little Theatre teamed up with Full Focus Film and Photography at Go Skate Day 2024 in order to make an advocacy ad to build a skatepark in Hartsville. We brainstormed, composed, and practiced our advocacy statements. #buildthepark
