About Hartsville Little Theatre

Our Mission

Hartsville Little Theatre exists to foster a love of the arts and humanities for local youth by empowering them with confident self-expression in a collaborative environment and by modeling community engagement and healthy exploration of emotional intelligence. We believe that engagement with performance arts and humanities cultivates lifelong skills that transfer to various other aspects of learning and life.

Our Summer Programs

We offer a range of educational programs and/or summer camps for children, including acting, art, performance, musical, and staging workshops, and performances. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of performers and theater enthusiasts.

Our Performances

We offer children's workshops and full-scale stage performances of a musical or stage play,.

In June of 2025 we presented our first full stage performance, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

In May of 2026, we will presented our second production, The Royal Shakespeare Company Wizard of Oz

In November of 2026, We will Present Shrek Jr.

Researching and Writing

Students combed through Hartsville's history at the Hartsville Museum and wrote plays based on different events from the past this past July at the Time Traveler Theatre Camp at the YMCA.

Creativity

Hartsville Little Theatre showed up to the Saturday Farmers Market to shake things up for everyone. Passersby created a new identity through costuming.

Argumentation

Hartsville Little Theatre teamed up with Full Focus Film and Photography at Go Skate Day 2024 in order to make an advocacy ad to build a skatepark in Hartsville. We brainstormed, composed, and practiced our advocacy statements. #buildthepark
